The Grand West Casino and Entertainment World is the only casino in Cape Town and caters to the needs of many local visitors in addition to many international travellers. The footprint for the original build was in excess of 60,000 m/2 and was completed in a then record construction period of some 11 months. This 24-hour multi entertainment destination has the usual gambling amenities and is complemented by several cinemas, an Olympic sized ice-rink, a bowling alley and a variety of restaurants and retail stores. The addition of a more recently built International arena that seats over 5000 people as well as two hotels including the 4-star Grand Hotel makes this venue one of the most visited in Cape Town.
